Start as in 1, shidachi places left foot behind uchidachi’s foot, pushes down his hand while maintaining control of the sword, and places the tip agains uchidachi’s chest. Push down the hand strongly in a deep stance, the right hand rests on the hip. Push your elbow against his to unbalance him.

In one rather wild variation of the kata, it is a kote gaeshi, with a cut up and down as in kesa giri of zen ken ren iai, but one handed on both cuts. A dangerous kata in that the sword of uchidachi goes flying across the room and shidachi can’t control the downward cut and smashes uchidachi’s collarbone.
