  1. Face shyomen then sit in seiza.

  2. This is the same as Nukiuchi but done a little faster.

  3. Be sure to wait with the left hand and not bring it to the tsuka to soon.

  4. 1-Slowly draw and block, moving your knees together.

  5. 2-Furikaburi and come up on your toes. Bend your body backwards.

  6. 3-Push from your toes and kirioroshi. Open your legs wide on the cut.

  7. Remember to push forward and out with your knees as you cut…do not bounce.

  8. Yoko chiburui.

* In Nukiuchi, Makko and Itomagoi, the forward slip is done by taking the sword, bending backwards, pushing the hara and knees forward, and then cutting. The knees must move forward and outward. The energy of the hips and the hara must be used. No jumping!
